  • How often should I receive scalp care?
We recommend that all clients receive a full "facial for the scalp" at least twice per year. Think of it like going to the dentist. You maintain your teeth at home, but need routine deep cleaning for optimal oral health. Same goes for the scalp. For clients with persistent scalp challenges, plan to come in with the change of each season. To spot treat or refresh between your signature head spa, we have many options available. Your service provider will help you get setup with the right scalp care plan for you. If you are experiencing a symptom flare up, we recommend one of our 1 hour scalp care services per month until you feel like your scalp is manageable at home.
  • Will this impact my hair color?
Our products are safe for color-treated hair. If you have vivid colors like pink, blue, green, purple etc. we recommend booking a week or two before your next refresh session because the amount of water we use during the service could cause early fading with direct dyes. *Please book any scalp service at least 1 week before or after your color service to minimize scalp sensitivity and risk of premature fading of color.
  • Who shouldn't receive this service?
We cannot perform services on clients with extensions, braids, or sew-ins, as these obstruct access to your scalp. If you had recent medical, reconstructive, or cosmetic surgery please wait until you are cleared by your surgeon. Guests with diseases or viruses relating to the skin and scalp should consult a medical professional. We do not claim to cure, treat, or diagnose diseases/viruses, especially those related to the skin. If your scalp has a fresh sunburn, we ask that you wait until it no longer hurts. If you are pregnant, please consult your doctor before contacting us. For your comfort, we recommend booking earlier in your pregnancy. You'll get the most out of our scalp care services promptly after your baby is born to help prevent postpartum hair loss or scalp complications.
  • Do I arrive with dirty or clean hair?
We leave this up to you. If you have a lot of buildup of flakes, oil, or product it would be more beneficial for you to come with cleaner hair to get the process started. Coming in on your wash day with dirty hair can help us determine if your current wash routine needs improvement. Either way, we kindly ask that you come with your hair detangled.
  • Can this be done on short hair/bald scalps?
YES, we highly encourage everyone to include headspa in their personal care routine regardless of hair length, gender identity, or age. As long as you meet the above criteria (scalp is not obstructed, no open wounds/diseases, and can lay flat on your back) you can receive scalp care.

Which option is right for you?

Targeted Results

Do you have medium-severe scalp discomfort like excessive flaking, redness, or oil build-up? Our 1 hour scalp care & style service let's us get to the root of the problem with a scientific scalp analysis and plant-based treatment formulated to soothe your specific scalp annoyances. May not include blow dry if your scalp needs more care than average.

Express Relaxation

We created the mini headspa for clients that want to enjoy the benefits of the full headspa, but are always on-the-go. You'll be pampered in our private room, but we skip the scalp analysis and some treatments to keep the time you're with us within the hour. This is also a great option for coordinating sessions with a friend.

Routine Cleanse

Our recommendation for your first visit is the signature headspa because it gives us ample time to get to know your needs and discuss adjustments to your home care. Booking the full 1.5-2 hour "facial for the scalp" at least 2-4 times per year creates the optimal environment for healthy hair growth.

Personal Retreat

Turn your visit into a private getaway with one of the following services to your headspa; Reiki energy healing, Oway scalp mask for targeted treatment of persistent scalp concerns, a haircut and/or professional blow-dry finish. Your total time with us will be about 2.5 hours, making it the ultimate escape.
